“We are expanding our work in fragrance, sun care, and haircare. Let’s focus on sun care: This category is essential for protecting consumers from skin cancer and photoaging. However, it’s currently surrounded by controversy, particularly regarding safety and aesthetics, such as the undesirable white cast left by many products. At Arcaea, we are looking to nature for more ethical and sustainable solutions. Inspired by marine life—specifically fish, which don’t get sunburned—we have identified and recreated the molecules responsible for this natural protection. This is exciting because it allows us to offer sun care products that are both safer and more enjoyable to use, without the white cast. More importantly, this can lead to better compliance, which can have a positive impact on overall skin health.”
