What? Skin Flowers Project: research project into using bacteria for a new tattoo ink alternative
Why? Through collaboration with bacteria, she created a groundbreaking tattoo ink that can aid our bodies defence against diseases as well as providing an alternative to current medical treatments.

INSIGHTS:

Descending into the microbial world of bacteria, we discover misunderstood communities of unified cells. Skin Flowers seeks to break down the stigma surrounding bacteria by embracing their remarkable properties and giving them a voice. A unique bacterial language has been created for these organisms, which is translated through tattoos on our bodies. The pigments in these tattoos can protect us as the bacteria thrive and "flower" beneath the skin.
